About Ellie’s List
Hi, my name is Aurelia, but everyone calls me Ellie. I'm in 7th grade and live in New York City. I love art, cello, and ballet. My favorite school subject in school is science. I have a crested gecko named Autumn. She is the cutest! When I grow up, I want to be a cellist and a dancer and a herpetologist.
My mom and I were talking about different careers and salaries. I was really shocked that teachers do not earn higher salaries. They have such incredibly demanding jobs and are responsible for educating the children in this country.
My kindergarten teacher was Ms. Ng at the Englewood Cliffs public school. I loved her so much. In the middle of the year, my mother brought her a lot of random supplies (pencils, crayons, white board markers, scissors). She didn't want Ms. Ng to have to buy anything with her own money.
I decided to start Ellie’s List to help teachers with supplies and needs for their classrooms. Teachers should not have to use their own money to buy supplies. I learned about how different school districts have more money or less money. I also do not think this is fair. Every teacher should have what they need during the entire school year.
By supporting teachers through donations, we affirm our collective responsibility to invest in education and ensure that educators have the resources they need to succeed. Together, we can empower teachers to continue making a positive impact in the lives of students and contribute to the overall well-being of our communities.
